GCSE Functional Skills – Apocalyptic

About the work

Post-Apocalyptic Fiction

During the final half-term, English students from Confetti have been exploring different aspects of creative writing. In the second week, they explored the genre of post-apocalyptic fiction. They read extracts from authors such as Stephen King and Margaret Attwood and watched clips from films such as Mad Max: Fury Road and The Book of Eli. The students learned about the common tropes, codes and conventions in these stories, and were tasked with writing their own.
